2017 Junior Golf pROGRAM
At Audubon Country Club, junior golf is about connecting families. Our highly trained PGA coaches utilize a team-based concept to create a positive learning environment and a genuine sense of belonging. Lifelong friends are made while learning to achieve success in a game the whole family can enjoy! Audubon is the only club in the state of Kentucky with three coaches having earned U.S. Kids certification. Our PGA coaches have access to the most innovative techniques and resources available to ensure a great experience for our junior golfers.
The Audubon junior golf program runs from April through August. There are four tiers of junior programming listed below in order of age/experience:
Junior Mini-Course Program – Age 3-6
The program affords aspiring young juniors the opportunity to learn golf in a fun, camp-style format. Program fee covers clinics, play days, and mini parent-child tournament. To ensure the safety of our juniors, a parent or guardian is required to attend camp with each participant. A total of nine hours of instruction and on course play will be offered. Program fee is $80.
Clinics & Scramble Nights – Age 7-13
A-la-carte programming designed to enhance young golfers’ skills and enjoyment of the game. Clinics are open to all ability levels with topics including: chipping, pitching, full swing, distance control, driver, and putting. Multiple sessions on each topic are available. Maximum student to teacher ratio is 5:1. Juniors may also register for "Junior Scramble Nights". Participants are paired in foursomes/fivesomes with a member of the professional staff who will guide them through a low pressure scramble format. Parents are welcome to drive along to encourage the juniors and to shuttle them to the next hole. Clinics are $20 per session. Scrambles are $25 per session.
D-League Teams - Age 7-13
Juniors with mastery of the fundamentals who aspire to PGA Junior League team membership will enjoy participating on a "D-League Team". Two teams of twelve will continue their skills development through a series of team practices and intrasquad matches mirroring the PGA Junior League experience. D-League members will enjoy eight experiences including practice area/on course instruction and team competition. Program fee is $180.
PGA Junior League Team – Age 7-13 (By Professional Staff Invitation)
With over 2,900 teams and 36,000 juniors participating, the PGA Junior League is the fastest growing youth team sport in the country. This year, we have increased the number of clubs competing in our league to five. We will again partner with Louisville C.C. and Hurstbourne, adding Owl Creek and Wildwood country clubs. Team Audubon will compete in six games within our league. Games will consist of four matches with at least two players from each team in every match. All team members will receive a team jersey and bag tag. Total number of experiences consisting of opening jamboree, practices, matches, and scrimmages has been increased to thirteen. Open to dependents of golf members only. Program fee is $220. PGA Junior League registration fee is $75.
